Geoff has always lived in the Bayside area of Melbourne. Following retirement after a long and demanding career in laboratory medicine (histopathology), he decided to explore his creative abilities and took up painting. Apart from several short courses and support from painting groups and tutors at Bayside U3A he is largely self-taught. He works mainly in acrylics. Geoff finds painting challenging, stimulating, and sometimes frustrating but ultimately very satisfying. He enjoys painting from nature, representing landscapes, seascapes, birds and animals that he has encountered in his travels in Australia and overseas. Geoff has shown his work at local art shows and enjoys seeing and hearing the response of people to his work.

Have been with gallery247 for 6 years, both free and now paid. Wonderful on line platform for artists which has made my work easy to find and i don't need to worry about setting up my own website; they even forwarded a message from a community college i volunteered for a few years ago, for an art tutor.
