I live on a farm on the Eyre Peninsula in South Australia. Painting has long been a dream of mine, but it took me a long time to summon the courage to pursue that dream.
I am self taught as I direct my own learning. It is difficult to attend an art college or weekly classes from where I live. I attend workshops and tutorials whenever and wherever I can.
Living on the land encourages creativity in various form and keeps me close to nature. The peace and isolation also gives me the freedom to experiment with different mediums and styles. I am enjoying learning and growing as an artist. There is so much to learn and I am loving the challenge.
I am drawn to vibrant colour, it lifts my spirits. Flowers are another love of mine, their colours and variety of form, and the connection we have with them tied to our most solemn and our most joyous occasions. I have been known to get very excited when I see them blooming , often stopping to take photos.
I am also exploring other subjects for my paintings and I hope to be able to share those in the future. Watch this space.
