2017 Artist Profile  TREVOR HANCOX

Trevor's artwork has evolved from a keen interest in the varient sounds, sights, and colours of the Australian landscape and the subjects that inhabit this great continent. He finds both challenge and satisfaction in creating paintings depicting the diverstiy found in our landscapes, seascapes, animals, birds, flora and human activity.

He works in several mediums but majors in watercolours' choosing the realism and impressionist styles for his works. He does enjoy the creative process of exploring subjects and gathering sements together to make a "realistic like" landscape. He combines familiar features /subjects and highlights them in segments of complimentary colours resulting in uniquely quirky works, that invites conversation..

He delights in depicting the rustic charm of the plethora of rural ruins to be found in the South Australian countryside. He easily reverts to the brilliant colours and scenery of Centralia after visiting, teaching and painting there over several years.

As an established artist, Trevor has paintings in some 15 countires, all Australian states and territories and a growing list of awards.

He has conducted solo charity exhibitions in 5 states, teaches watercolours, conducts workshops, been artist in residence and accepts commissions.

As a practicing member of the Hills Art Collective and the Painters of the Flinders Ranges groups, Trevor Successfully exhibits in their exhibitions and other art exhibitions in SA.

Trevor's studio/gallery is open by appointment and is also offered for charity exhibitions.
