"Rebecca Carter is a rising star in the Australian contemporary art scene. She has won awards and is building her career abroad".
I was born in a small hospital in Lilydale and raised in Victoria's oldest wine area, famous for being the resting place of Dame Nellie Melba.
When I was a little youngster, it all began with a sketching pad and grey lead. Drawing portraits was fun for me, especially drawing faces. Later, as I became more appreciative of the beauty of the countryside, I developed a passion in watercolour landscape painting, which allowed me to use my work to travel to various imagined dream realms.
I kept experimenting with new textures, media, and styles because I was constantly looking for new challenges and ways to push myself. I was fascinated by new scientific laws, new forms of art and architecture, and new religious and political views. Eventually, I fell in love with Renaissance art.
I've triumphed over numerous severe setbacks, such as heart failure. But I firmly think that "you can either choose to sink or swim," and I will always make the decision to swim rather than let these harrowing events shape my destiny. If anything, it's inspired me even more to realise my artistic ambitions.
Then came the creation of my business 'abstractsbyrebeccacarter' in 2021, focusing on modern and contemporary abstract art. I create artwork using modern mediums including alcohol ink, acrylic ink, and creamy chalks, focusing on texture, movement, color theory, and symbols.
I create artwork using modern mediums including alcohol ink, acrylic ink and creamy chalks. My focus is on texture, movement, colortheory, and symbolic meaning. It is intended to create values and raise awareness for mental health and other issues closest to my heart.
Then, in 2021, I founded my company, "abstractsbyrebeccacarter," with an emphasis on current and contemporary abstract art. I use contemporary mediums such as creamy chalks, acrylic ink, and alcohol ink to produce my artwork.
I am mostly interested in colour theory, texture, movement, and symbolic meaning. Its goal is to instill ideals and increase consciousness regarding mental health and other matters that are very important to me.
SIGNATURE
III
As I got more into the art world, I started to doubt who I was as an artist. What distinguishes or identifies myself from other artists? How may my piece of art be recognised right away as a masterwork by Rebecca Carter?
I then realised that I wanted to make a stamp-like label or creative signature that would identify my artwork as only mine. Like other artists, such as painters, musicians, poets, and fashion designers, you must leave your imprint on your creations to let the public know that you are the one who created them.
It was important to me to choose a label or signature that represents a sentimental value that is both close to and dear to my heart.
MEANING
III
My numerology number is III (3), which stands for the past, present, and future as well as the holt trinity.
I was able to relate to the three significant life events that it represents in Chinese culture: birth, marriage, and death.
My heart was pounding at 25% of its maximum capacity when I almost died back in May 2022. Luckily, I had gone to the hospital when I thought my symptoms were minor but they have since improved. Though it was fortunate that I discovered the underlying issues before it was too late, I do feel blessed.
In my imagination, I feel as though I was born, almost died, and am now on the verge of rebirth.
In other words, I've had a spiritual awakening and am gaining the self-assurance to speak up, follow my dreams, and use my talents to benefit others.
Since I've never been able to put my emotions into words, art gives me the confidence to speak up, and I hope that by doing so, I might encourage others to do the same.
"I think it's important to release my artwork into the cosmos with the intention that it would make people happy and enhance their lives. Since life is brief, why not surround yourself with cheery hues?"
Have been with gallery247 for 6 years, both free and now paid. Wonderful on line platform for artists which has made my work easy to find and i don't need to worry about setting up my own website; they even forwarded a message from a community college i volunteered for a few years ago, for an art tutor.

I have recently become a member of Gallery 247 as an artist, and am so impressed. Communication was quick and very personable. The website seems very user friendly. With the couple of questions I emailed I was looked after with a phone call and very kindly and professionally looked after. Highly recommend.
