Born Melbourne 1948. Middle child of five boys. Moved to a Victorian farm aged 8.
Started painting at home, 1964.
1968-70 B.A., Monash Uni, 1972 Dip. Ed. Monash Uni.
Became a secondary English/History teacher. Married, with a daughter. Divorced.
1981 resigned from teaching.
1982-85 B.A. Fine Art, Painting, Phillip Institute (now RMIT). 1986 Grad. Dip Fine Art, Phillip Inst.
1984, one semester, Art Institute of Chicago.
1988, exhibition of paintings, Pinacotheca Gallery, Richmond, Vic with Dick Watkins.
1992, two person exhibition of paintings with Raffaella Torresan, Caulfield Arts Complex.
1995, Senior Supervisor, Allan Barry Reserve Community Arts Project, Campbellfield.
!996, Project Supervisor, Bellair Mosaics, Kensington. Queens Park Artworks, Moonee Ponds, Project Supervisor(each 6 months).
1997, solo exhibition of paintings and mosaics, Walter Burley Griffin Incinerator, Moonee Ponds, Victoria.
2001, solo exhibition of paintings and drawings, 69 Smith Street Gallery, Fitzroy, Victoria.
We had pretty good show considering it was run as a COVID Safe Event with timed 2 hour sessions and ticketed. We achieved Sales above 20% grossing $104k (including Artist in Residence) which was our highest result ever and yielding an averaging selling price point of $537.
