Under The Banyan Tree

Description : This painting uses soft contemporary colours to create a sense of calm. As I was painting it I was reminded of the times I sat under a Banyan tree while travelling in Asia. I used the feeling the dappled light gave me for inspiration for this painting. Under The Banyan Tree is painted with acrylic paint on stretched canvas, ready to hang with wire and D rings. The sides are painted the same taupe as seen in the body of the painting. Parts of the painting have a raised texture and it has a light coating of gloss varnish over the painting. Highlights of gold paint with texture have been added as subtle highlights and the gold reflects the light and makes the painting come alive. Although it is ready to hang as is, it can have a floating frame added later as shown in some of the images. It comes signed on the front, along with a signed certificate of authenticity. It is registered in the National Registry of Australian Art and Artists as proof of provenance. Registration number provided.
