A Fracking Disgrace.

Description : "A Fracking Disgrace" well this is my Wynne entry. Just waiting........... Sometimes Fracking goes wrong and our rivers can actually be set alight . It's wrecking some of our river systems. Not good. I've fished in many of our outback rivers and don't want to see them destroyed by our need for coal seam gas. Anyway this was my little interpretation.

Growing up in Brewarrina, my artwork is influenced by many childhood memories of the harsh beauty of the Australian Outback. Now living on the Central Coast, I find inspiration in the movement of tidal waters and the steady passing of time and the seasons.

I am a "self directed" artist, learning from art classes and workshops, studying other artwork, reading many, many books, and conversations with other artists, but often preferring to work alone, in the peace of my studio.

The subjectof my work varies from week to week but the overall force involves colour. I love colour, it's interactions on the page, it's subtlety, boldness, restful ness and cheekiness. My dreams are often in colour, about colour.

I endeavour to paint artworks which celebrate the beauty of nature to create a mood and capture an image which reflects my response to places I have been or seen.

My chosen medium is  Ink on Yupo watercolour paper or prepared board.  After many years of acrylic, watercolour and pastel experimentation, I have found something which suits my personality and hum with a creative energy of their own making.

Each painting is created with a combination of small brush strokes and an interplay of ink running across the surface.

The Inks are fast drying, acid free, transparent and spirit based. The Yupo Paper is a compelling and unique alternative to traditional watercolour papers. It is 100 percent recyclable, tree free, waterproof, stain resistant and extremely strong and durable.

In combination, they allow me to capture an energy and movement unique to this beautiful medium, and hopefully create magical experiences with my art.
