Marianne is happiest in the country, having spent her childhood in a small town in the Wimmera and living in several country areas in Australia and overseas while her children were young so they could also enjoy the freedom of a country upbringing and since the children have left home has been enjoying the Mornington Peninsula life with her husband Mike at Balnarring. Marianne began painting around 9 years ago under the guidance of a variety of lovely tutors on the Mornington Peninsula. She has now developed her own style of painting and enjoys experimenting with materials, painting styles and subject mater. Her preference is for pastel coloured paintings although she often finishes with brighter colours. Marianne particularly enjoys the challenge of experimenting with mixed media and abstract art preferring not to paint the visible world but to use her imagination. In addition to painting, Marianne runs Coolart Studios, holiday accommodation on her property and is able to have a constant display of artworks for guests to view and/or purchase. Marianne has exhibited and sold artworks at Camberwell, Somers, Mount Eliza, Flinders and Sorrento Art Shows. She has works in homes of friends and family members around Australia and overseas and thanks them kindly for their faith in her.
