Wilkinsons Point

Description : Wilkinsons Point was where work was carried out in the reconstruction of the Tasman Bridge in 1975-1977, and the construction of the Bowen Bridge in 1980-1984. Now part of the Glenorchy Art & Sculpture Park (GASP!) evidence of this bridge work is still apparent. The photographic grid formation was inspired by Bernd & Hilla Becher who were renowned for photographing disappearing industrial structures.

PRACTICE

Painting in and of isolated places. Growing up on the west coast of lutruwita/Tasmania in a small copper mining community, I often using copper as an expressive medium.

I also enjoy experimenting with other forms of contemporary art, including printmaking, drawing, sound, and video, believing that art can be a powerful communication tool.
