Julie Harley- Bio
Where there is land there is water in some shape or form, river systems, pondages, lakes, dams, ocean and seas. My work consists of land meeting water and interacting in a way where the water shapes the land by the way the water is disburse. Some times its nature vs nurture which brings life in all shapes and forms together.
The flow of water is sometimes stagnant and other times raging, which depicts my sense of solitude or excitement. As an abstract landscape artist, I enjoy the movement of water which has been reflected within the iridescent colours I choose to paint with, using multi media to contain the flow or to make the water move.
The grounds I have travelled have given me the inspiration to paint, wondering the land to find water has been the biggest attraction to my travels. Once I find the water, I am looking for it to give me a great sense of emotional peace. Whether it lays horizonal or falls vertical over a cliffs edge.
We gravitate to water as human beings as it gives us a sense of harmony to know that as human beings we are made up of 90% water ourselves.
Have been with gallery247 for 6 years, both free and now paid. Wonderful on line platform for artists which has made my work easy to find and i don't need to worry about setting up my own website; they even forwarded a message from a community college i volunteered for a few years ago, for an art tutor.

I have recently become a member of Gallery 247 as an artist, and am so impressed. Communication was quick and very personable. The website seems very user friendly. With the couple of questions I emailed I was looked after with a phone call and very kindly and professionally looked after. Highly recommend.
