Jeanne has been painting all her life. She completed her schooling at the Johannesburg Art, Ballet, Drama and Music school and went on to study fine art at Technikon Pretoria for 2 years, during which time she was offered a jeweller apprenticeship at Erich Frey Jewellers. She went on to qualify as a jeweller and has won 10 awards in jewellery design, including de Beers Shining Lights awards and Anglogold Ashanti Riches of Africa Jewellery design awards. She owned her own jewellery studio for 12 years, and then moved to Australia in 2008. She worked as a jewellery designer and jewellery store manager, until 2016 when she decided to become a full time artist. She hasn't looked back since. She is represented at Artopia Gallery in Kununurra, in the far North of Western Australia.
Her years in the jewellery business inspired her to merge diamonds and paint into paintings which reflect the riches of the remote and stunning Kimberley region of Western Australia.
She has had 2 solo exhibitions, one at the Lovell Gallery, Kununurra in 2009, and one at the Artopia Gallery in Kununurra in 2014. She exhibits her work on a regular basis at Artopia gallery.
Jeanne uses watercolour, gouache, oil, acrylic, ochres, and gold leaf on her paintings. Another unique feature is her use of tiny genuine rough diamonds which regularly feature in her work.
She lives in the remote outback town of Kununurra, in Western Australia, and is continually inspired by the magnificent landscape of the East Kimberley.
We are absolutely thrilled with this painting titled "The Tiger" By Brandon Alfredo. Such a talented young artist. Can’t wait to have it framed and hanging in our home. Please pass on to Brandon how much we love this painting.....such a powerful image. Extremely talented.
