With my art I try to express my vision with vibrant colours in a contemporary form. I have a unique expressive style using many layers of texture, with bold brush strokes and thick paint to create texture and form.
I mostly use Acrylic paint in my art. Although I'll also use oil and watercolour mediums to acheive the effect required.
To give my art depth and character, I often use many layers using a glaze medium and many washes.
My style is bold in every way! I love strong composition, colour and texture.
I rediscovered my passion for painting after studying Visual Art, Fashion Design, Marketing and a demanding Thirty years working in the Newspaper and Magazine Advertising Industry. Here I used my visual ideas, in printed form.
Six years ago, circumstances finally allowed me time to pursue my passion for painting.
I've been lucky to have Dawn Csutoros, a contemporary Australian artist, based in Melbourne as my mentor over this period. Dawn exhibits both nationally and internationally and runs workshops in Melbourne.
Creating helps me express my love of the extraordinary Australian landscape and depict how blessed we are, to live in a country of such diversity.
Our beaches, the Red Centre, our rain forests and abundance of wild flowers give me much inspitation for my work.
My artistic visions and craft drive me to create works that bring enjoyment to myself and fortunatley others.
