My Influences

I have a long held fascination and personal interest in psychoses and the associated emotional suffering of individuals. The concepts utilised in my work are often of a personal expierence: expressing the loss of innocence and violation of trust, hope and belief. A vulnerability that cannot be easily shaken or forgotten.

Exploring notiions of self-identy; the illusion of sanity and insanity; the history of place; family and its familiar objects; narraitive and memories, it has been my desire to bare witness and keep associated traumas from the past alive.

In my new body of work, I aim to express memories that trace a world travelled and lived. Emotions I have felt, although dark and foreboding, have a glimmer of light. Of hope. Of joy. Of letting go.

My work explores the liberating aspect of forgiveness. In a time of such uncertainty, one can remember what was, what has and perhaps hold on to what will be.

Hold onto the dreams of Contentment, Peace and Love. My work expesses connections, that link and intertwine. Exploring and discovering all that is here and now. Life evolves, the human figure, the face...they mask a thousand stories that often go untold.
