Entice - Framed Original Oil Painting

Description : Sometimes a painting begs to be created. Driving through the local town, I noticed the most beautiful Australian eucalyptus growing in the scrub, about to burst into iridescent crimson blooms. I stopped the car and picked two stems from a branch, and immediately drove home, as fast as I could. I placed the stems in a vase, erected my easel, and set about painting these lovely flowers, leaves and gumnuts as swiftly as possible, to retain the essence of their stunning texture, form and hue.

This painting might be small (measuring only 40 x 40cm) but its impact is big. It will brighten any corner, bookshelf, side table, hallway or bedroom, and is bound to become a favourite addition to your home.

I was born into a highly creative family where live music, book signings and art exhibitions seemed to be a normal part of a child’s everyday life and upbringing. It was only natural that I eventually pick up the palette knife and put pigment to canvas. Today, I live entirely off-grid in a quirky house and garden, with my hubby and two dogs, on rambling acreage of bush, dust and stone. My days are spent at my art studio among gum trees, kookaburras, wallabies, and koalas (and the odd snake!).

You will rarely see me paint a landscape in the traditional sense. Instead, I prefer to get up close and personal with my subject, study its form and colour, its character and its flaws, and translate this impression into something new: cropped, colourful, suggestive, and alive.

So please, sit back, browse through my portfolio, and maybe one of my paintings will find its new home.
