Summer Luvvin

Description : I can hear cicadas buzzing in the flowering gum trees and I know summer is almost here. Dawn sun shines hard and bright and honey eaters sip nectar from Australian native trees. MATERIALS Painted on pure linen using thick impasto texture and bold cheerful colours of turquoise, green, purple and pink, this unframed painting of gum leaves, gum nuts and native flowers will brighten any space in your home or office. The natural weave of the linen created by the negative space in the painting forms part of the overall look. Professional artist's oil paint has a satin finish and is highly durable against fading. THE ARTIST'S INSPIRATION As an artist, I draw inspiration from nature, the seasons, the indigenous landscape, and from Australian artists such as Streeton, McCubbin, Whiteley, Gleeson and the marvelous French master Marc Chagall. There are also so many upcoming and emerging Australian artists which continue to inspire me daily. I am a prolific artist working full time from my studio in central Victoria, with much of my art being held in private collections around Australia, as well as exhibiting in local galleries and at the Victorian Artists Society in Melbourne. DELIVERY All of my paintings are packed with the greatest care and a painting this size will be delivered using Australia Post. Best, Eve x

I was born into a highly creative family where live music, book signings and art exhibitions seemed to be a normal part of a child’s everyday life and upbringing. It was only natural that I eventually pick up the palette knife and put pigment to canvas. Today, I live entirely off-grid in a quirky house and garden, with my hubby and two dogs, on rambling acreage of bush, dust and stone. My days are spent at my art studio among gum trees, kookaburras, wallabies, and koalas (and the odd snake!).

You will rarely see me paint a landscape in the traditional sense. Instead, I prefer to get up close and personal with my subject, study its form and colour, its character and its flaws, and translate this impression into something new: cropped, colourful, suggestive, and alive.

So please, sit back, browse through my portfolio, and maybe one of my paintings will find its new home.
