Daniel Groneberg is an artist, street photographer, coffee fanatic, and cheese addict; he has been addicted to the smell of darkroom chemicals since the age of 13 and now practices alternative methods of processing using UV light.

His current body of work ‘The Cyanotype Project’ was exhibited as part of THINK Educations ‘Festival of Change’ and explores the merging of digital image capture and illustration with Cyanotype printing.

Daniel holds on to a firm belief that we need not forget older technologies when creating imagery in a digital world, the combination of the old with the new can only result in a more individual and tangible outcome.

I have always been fascinated by the creation of an image on paper. A digital image is extremely clean and tidy, it is like a hospital emergency room, sterile and fast paced. Turning to older technologies slows the process down, allows for imperfections, almost celebrates them, and gives me time for me to interpret each stage of a concept until a seed is planted and an idea starts to grow”

Daniel is a proactive member of the photographic community and holds affiliations with The Media Entertainment and Arts Alliance (MEAA), Australian Commercial and Media Photographers (ACMP), Queensland Centre of Photography (QCP) and is a Co-Founder of the Brisbane Camera Collective, a common ground for Brisbane photographers & photographic artists to showcase their work.
