Artist Bio: Jennifer Davey |
|
My name is Jennifer Davey and I am a painter of the Australian landscape. My chiildhood was spent firstly in Raywood and then later Bendigo. My first experience as an artist was attempting to capture the colours and mood of sunsets and its effect on the landscape around me. I knew that some day I would paint pictures of the bush. However, that did not eventuate until retirement when I was able to concentrate on what I secretly believed I was meant to be doing. I work predominantly in oils and my subject is the natural environment and my passionn is the mighty Gum Tree. I have lived and worked in Bendigo for a great deal of my life, however, after spending some 15 years in Echuca, the Murray River and environs have a great influece on my work. |
