I was born in Warragul and moved to the Netherlands with my family at the age of nine. Shortly after, I discovered my love for drawing, starting first by sketching nudes from one of my dad's encyclopedias. My father asked "what are you drawing?" After I showed my dad my drawings, my dad told me not to draw nudes, and instead to stick to drawing cartoon characters, which I did. At the age of 24, I started drawing nudes again and having been invited to show my work at the Artimond art show in Helmond, holland, had great success and continued to sell my art work on a regular basis. When I was 30 I moved back to Australia taking some of my drawings with me and after starting a family a few years later I took a break from drawing. In 2014 I again commenced drawing with slight variations to my original style and drawings were mainly of my muse Madelina Horn, a burlesque artist based in Canada. I also take commissions for portraits I use pencil and crayon on paper or canvas for my desired effect. When I see a picture, I see a past or future movement and capture this with movement lines. My artwork is available framed or unframed and yoy can view more of my work at my fb page at stephen van duynhoven artist page. |
