Licia PAPPAS D.O.B. 24.5.66 Melbourne Victoria - joined Gallery 247 September 2014 Married to George Pappas Two sons, Dale and Theo. I have always enjoyed drawing and in particular the human face. I love to capture all forms of emotion be them happy or sad, afraid or overjoyed. "Pretty Faces" do not interest me. I look for uniqueness and imperfections. Animals also make for interesting subjects. I love to draw with charcoal sticks, charcoal pencils and pastels, especially in black and white, as there are literally 50 shades of grey. Using my fingers to blend the charcoal is very enjoyable and connects me directly to the image in a tactile and personal way. I am not afraid to try new things and sometimes I even surprise myself. Recently I've completed some works in Acrylic and after so many years of drawing found painting to be just as enjoyable. One must never be afraid to change. I always like to have a piece of Artwork in progress and just before I finish a piece I've already decided what I'm working on next. I now wish to share my love of Art with the wider community and can't wait to start entering Art Shows. |
