Artist Bio: Alison Tippett |
|
Alison Tippett is constantly inspired by, and is always in awe of the beauty found in nature. No two flowers, even from the same plant are never exactly the same and this creates endless possibilities and beautiful subject matter. She enjoys the challenge of recreating and interpreting the different textures of flowers in particular, and producing artwork using only coloured pencil, that you feel like you could reach out and touch. She fell in love with using coloured pencils as her primary medium, as she loves their ability to create lots of fine details and produce bright, vivid colours. She also enjoys experimenting with other materials, from pastel and watercolour, to linocut printing, and everything in between. Alison is currently a member of Thou Art Mum (TAM), an exhibiting group of artists, who are all mothers, based in the councils of Banyule and Nillumbik in the North Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne. She is also a member of Red Door Studio. Alison has exhibited work at Montsalvat, Red Gallery, the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show, Camberwell Art show and others around Melbourne. Alison was awarded the Best Emerging Artist prize at the 2023 Eltham Art Show. |
