BIOGRAPHY In 1967 after leaving High School and coming first in advanced level art, Julie enrolled for a certificate course in Fine Art at TAFE College, Coffs Harbour. After completion, her art aspirations were interrupted by work commitments and a career in the fashion industry. Then of course marriage, children and family life took over and put any visual art career on hold for some time. From 1986-1996 Julie attended the Mitchell College Bathurst Summer Schools. She pursued her love affair with watercolours, gaining priceless knowledge from Australias leading artists. During that time the opportunity arose to enrol at Charles Sturt University to study a BA degree, majoring in Fine Art and Textiles. After living in beautiful Port Macquarie for 19 years, she has now relocated to another picturesque spot, the Mornington Peninsula. She will be teaching locally and travelling interstate, to hold workshops and demonstrations for various Art Societies and Associations. Julie has held Solo Exhibitions and participated in numerous shared Gallery exhibitions. She enters in many other independent exhibitions held in NSW and interstate also. Over the years she has been a President, Vice President and during the entire time the Tutorial convenor for the Hastings Valley Fine Art Association, as well being a Life Member. Julie teaches annually for Combined Art Societies of Sydney; Art in Action, (a three day weekend of painting workshops) held at Kurrajong in the Blue Mountains, Dookie Art Attack, McGregor Summer School, Toowoomba and Grampians Brushes, Halls Gap. She is also a Teacher and Demonstrator in Interactive Acrylic paint for Chroma Australia. She is a teacher at The Peninsula Art Society, Mt Eliza, McClelland Art Society. Hampton Art Studio and Malvern Arts Society. Julie also in demand for Workshops and Demonstrations throughout Australia. At present she is represented at AGRA Galleries, Camberwell, VIC. & Original OZ at Boathouse Gallery, Frankston, Vic. The Old Post Office Gallery Seymour Vic and Sherbrooke Art Gallery Vic. Seaview Art Gallery Queenscliff Vic. Julie has been a founding member and part of the Hastings Art Trail. This is a diverse group of artists that have their own galleries in their homes, open for the public. The Art Trail, members hold at least one major art exhibition a year and have open weekends during holiday times. This is a wonderful creative group of artisans that she will miss being a part of. Julie is a member of The Australian Watercolour Institute, Guild Fellow of the Australian Guild of Realist Artists, VIC; and a member of The Peninsula Artists Society; VIC; The Watercolour Society of Victoria, Australia, The Pastel Society Victoria Australia and the McClelland Guild of Artists Inc. VIC, Sherbrook Art Society Vic, Waverley Art Society Vic, Berwick Art Society vic and Malvern Art Society Vic and the Berwick Art society.
