Artist Bio: Melissa Boag

Melissa Boag









Based in Melbourne, Victoria, Melissa studied architecture before moving into millinery and costume design for theatre.  In recent years, she has focused on drawing and painting in pen and ink, gouache and oil. She also creates small ceramic sculptures. 



Melissa works predominantly from life capturing intimate moments, the vulnerability of the human experience and the world we live in.

    • Weekly untutored life drawing at the Collingwood Art Gallery in Smith Street and Hawthorn Art Society

    • Placement at Royal Opera House costume department - 1998









    • costumes for fringe theatre including productions of William Shakespeare’s The Tempest and Grimm Tales.
