Thank you for taking the time to visit my page! After a career in theatre production, both in Australia and the West End in the UK, I have now semi-retired on a property in picturesque Wollombi in regional NSW. I run a small boutique theatre company called Bare Productions, and I am an avid gardener with a focus on native Australian plants. I work primarily with acrylic on stretched canvas but do occasionally work with charcoals and ink. Growing up on a large bush property in Kenthurst NSW and coming from a landscaping family, I have always had a keen interest in our amazing and unique Australian bush creatures and plants. In later years, my studies in Conservation and Land Management have also had an influence on my artwork, often depicting Aussie fauna, flora and landscapes. I was intrigued with the notion of how to transfer my skills from 3D mediums of prop making and theatre prosthetics into the 2D medium of painting. It's been an interesting endeavour! Elements such as shape and form, shadow, texture and contrast require a new approach & I have discovered great joy in the intricacies of a new medium. I hope you find joy in viewing my artwork. |
