Artist Bio: Adriana Artmeier

Adriana Artmeier is an emerging, Melbourne based artist, focusing on realism mixed with some surrealistic and pop-art elements. Adriana is originally from Germany, with Italian and Slovenian roots and moved to Australia in 2016.

A lot of her work is inspired by the underwater world, media, marine life conservation and the way we treat our planet in this day and age. The object she paints as her main focus or sometimes hides in the background is sharks.
Adriana began her journey as an artist in 2008 with Portraits (black and white realism drawings) and developed her style during the years. She slowly started to use different mediums and went from just using graphite pencils, to coloured pencils and later on, in 2017 she started painting with acrylics which is still her preferred medium.

She never went to a school strictly focusing on art but to a technical college for design in Munich. Adriana is self-taught and developed her techniques through experimentation over the years

Adriana Artmeier started her business in 2020 during the pandemic and has been working as a full-time artist since and has her 5th exhibition coming up this year. Her plans for the upcoming years are to release her sketch journal as a book format, organize solo exhibitions and have international shows.
