Artist Bio: Nadee Jayasekera

Nadee Jayasekera has been producing art and indulging her creative urges since a relatively young age. She was initially introduced to the visual arts by her creatively-inclined grandmother, and studied art at school right up until the tenth grade. She was later accepted to the State University of New York at Plattsburgh (SUNY Plattsburgh), in upstate New York, learning the fundamental principles of colour, texture and art creation within her first year.

Nadee began painting consistently in 2020, and has been artistically influenced by the works of acclaimed Australian painter David Hart. She is captivated by the dynamism of forests and botanicals, and her works underscore the unique shapes, vivid tones and specific textures associated with these organic occurrences. Her works have been exhibiting in regional Victoria and Brisbane since 2022 and she facilitates workshops in Bendigo Victoria.
