Painting watercolour for several years and more recently pastel, I have been inspired by the joy of a Brownie camera as a child, learning the basics of composition, and more recently by a love of travel and art history. I paint my local area of Portsea-Sorrento frequently, and also take inspiration from the landscapes and townscapes of Italy, France, UK and Japan, as well as of course Australia.

I love watercolour for its shimmering light and pastel for its extraordinary undiluted colour.
