I have just recently been accepted by Australian Society of Marine Artists as an exhibiting artist. Most of my work is marine based and have been painting marine art since the 1960’s. In 1983 I was commissioned by the Adelaide Advertiser newspaper to produce artwork of the Americas Cup yacht Australia ll as a print offer if the yacht won as we all know it made history and the print sold 30,000 copies becoming the fastest selling print offer by the newspaper ever. Currently I have been painting the historic ports of South Australia where many of the most famous names in sailing ships called especially on the Yorke Peninsula ports, and I don’t think anyone has produced a project like this before. I welcome commissioned work as it requires a great deal of reference work especially on heritage subjects. |
