Artist Bio: Glenys Baxter |
I have a deep passion for and connection to the Australian landscape & all living things. The awesome colours of nature inspire my artworks. Painting for me is an exciting and ongoing creative learning curve, having evolved from years of traditional works to my present more contemporary style. I enjoy experimenting with a variety of mediums & styles and have a spontaneous approach to my paintings. Landscape photography is also a hobby/passion, which provides me with reference material for my paintings throughout my travels. I successfully exhibit and sell my works at exhibitions throughout NSW and N.E. Victoria. Recent awards include: “Contemporary Painting Award Corowa 2017”, “Regional Painting Award Wangaratta Art Show 2016”, “Open Painting Award, Mitta Valley Art Show 2016” & a “Highly Commended Photography Award at Lockhart Spirit of the Land 2016”. I am an exhibiting member of Albury Wodonga Artists Society, Gigs Gallery and Alpine Artists. I have participated in partnered & group exhibitions locally & regionally and sold at Camberwell 2015 & 2016 Exhibitions, Trinity College Albury and Arcadia Gallery, Beechworth.
