IJLAL OLGUNER Ijlal Olguner is a figurative artist who is inspired by social, psychological and global issues, including the human condition, social justice, animal welfare, the news, media, fashion, war, consumption and our impact on the environment. In 2022 Ijlal became the recipient of St Patrick’s College, Flanagan Artist in Residence Prize, a 4 week residency at St Patrick’s College in Ballarat, Victoria, where she collaborated with the senior studio arts students and developed several drawings and a painting that was acquired by the college for its permanent collection. Also in 2022, Ijlal's portrait ‘Patricia’, (a charcoal drawing of the Australian writer Patricia Cornelius), was selected as a finalist in the KAAF Art Prize. In 2024, Ijlal had her first solo exhibition, titled 'Move', at the Mornington Library Foyer Gallery in Mornington Victoria. ‘Move’ was an exhibition featuring a series of charcoal drawings of animals, sea creatures, and insects in movement. |
