Artist Bio: Rachel Daldry |
Rachel Daldry has always been drawn to the arts and creativity. Working as a designer, a professional dancer/dance teacher and an artist with the preferred medium of oils. She has worked as a designer at the sign writing company Daytona Signs since 1990 and is currently a company director handling the design work and digital printing. But even with a creative day job that wasn't enough for Rachel so in the late 90’s she attended a number of art classes/groups then concentrated her study with Peter Findlay of Panorama Art Group specialising in oil painting. After a number of years with Panorama Art group Rachel's focus took a shift to dance. This initial hobby of dance became an almost 20 year career, working as a professional dancer, teacher & choreographer of Belly Dance & Bollywood Dance with Adelaide’s longest running Belly Dance school, Belly Dance Arabesque. Moving forward to 2016 she felt it time to step back from dance and go back to her first passion of painting. Painting both at her home studio and again with Panorama Art Group. More recently she has commenced tuition at Splashdown Art Studio as Rachel believes that gaining knowledge from variety of sources is valuable to her personal growth. Rachel's artwork is about capturing the moments of simple beauty in our natural world, she aims to highlight the things we miss due to society's ever increasing busy lifestyle. Rachel's work is bright, bold and colourful. |
