Artist Profile - Francine Chadwick I’ve always been fascinated by art but my real interest began to develop when I spent time painting with the late Melva Moore at her home in Cleveland Queensland, her bright and free watercolours fascinated me, a more personal journey into art began. After completing a trip around Australia I settled in the beautiful south west of Western Australia. I became a member of the Busselton Arts Society and spent time studying pastel painting alongside acclaimed artist Gay Scaddan. I then attended summer school at UWA Perth, tutored by awarded pastel artist Brian Simmonds. I gained confidence and began exhibiting. After winning a number of prizes and commendations for both my watercolours and pastels I branched off into acrylics & mixed media which gave me the freedom to express my desire for a more loose impressionistic style. During my time living in the South West of WA I was able to dedicate much of my spare time to painting abstract acrylic landscapes ‘en plein air’ and sold these through a number of local outlets. Recent trips to France, Spain & Italy continue to inspire and influence my art. I am currently a member of the Peninsula Art Society as well as the McClelland Guild of Artists. My work has been exhibited and sold at; Busselton Arts Society Exhibitions Denmark Butter Factory, WA Tatu Homewares, Dunsborough Peninsula Arts Society Exhibitions Mount Eliza Art & Design Show
