Artist Bio: Sarah Anthony |
Sarah Anthony is a painter, metalsmith and art therapist with a particular interest in exploring interpersonal dynamics through portraiture and depictions of domestic life. Sarah’s art expression is influenced and informed by her life experiences, and thus her conceptual work is often autobiographical and influenced by an art therapy way of thinking. Born in 1969, Sarah travelled widely during her formative years and lived for periods in the UK, Belize, Hong Kong and New Zealand. Sarah completed 3 years of foundation art study in Southampton, UK, before completing a BA Joint Honours in Fine Art and Silversmithing at Camberwell College of the Arts in London, in 1994. In 2007 Sarah graduated from La Trobe University with a Masters in Art Therapy. Sarah spent many years focusing on creating small metal sculptural works and contemporary jewellery, and has been represented by galleries in Dublin, London, Auckland, Melbourne and Sydney. In 1997 Sarah emigrated to Australia. After a substantial break raising her young family, Sarah has recently returned to artmaking with her main focus on oil painting.
