Rena Hoffman is a Melbourne born printmaker and painter. Her work is influenced by nature and the human body and psyche. Rena has been forever curious how one’s inner life effects and transforms one’s outer life, particularly through creativity. Rena has been influenced by Melbourne landscape & portrait artist Ted May, international printaker, Gail Rockman (rip 2015), Dr. Kaalii Cargill, artist, author and eco feminist & Camie Lyons, Sydney based sculptor. After completing a foundation year of art, Prahran, 1987, she studied in psychology & psychotherapy, working in private practice, marrying art with the therapy, all along painting extensively with Ted May, (since 1991) and worked with etching and collographs in Gail Rockman’s private studio between the years 2008-2015. She was invited to exhibit in the Cunningham Dax exhibition ‘Out of the Darkness’,2009. A show on the transgenerational trauma of the Holocaust with the potential healing of art. Rena’s work was then further exhibited in Japan and rural Australia, helping bridge multiple generation gaps with her story and artwork. |
