Judith Griffits ARTIST BIO
Judith is an ‘emerging artist’. She has been painting in gouache and acrylics for 18 months. Judith spent her formative years drawing and painting her immediate world, but at the end of schooling was enticed into studying law and worked in that area for seven years. With small children at heel she continued her early interest in the arts, studying part-time and completing an Associate Diploma of Fine Arts at UTAS, majoring in printmaking. Subsequently she established various small businesses of an artistic nature, and also studied silversmithing, completeing a Diploma of Art Craft and Design at TAFE. After working for a decade at leading Hobart art gallery Handmark, (where she was inspired by the creative works of the prominent Tasmanian artists in the Handmark stable), in 2020 she decided it was time to concentrate fully on developing her interest in painting, a medium new to her. She aspires to paint daily. |
