Artist Bio: Betty-ann Heim

 BETTY-ANN HEIM

Born in Canada, I migrated, with my husband, to Australia in 1977.

Academic Qualifications:

Bachelor of Fine Arts, Uni SA Underdale Campus, 1984

Grad Dip Ed, Catholic Teacher's College, Sydney, NSW (external student)

Masters of Art, Visual Arts, Curriculum Developement, Univesity of New England, Armidale, NSW. (external student)

In 1984 we moved to Papaul New Guinea where I worked for the World Bank on a three year project, producing readers for primary school children around the Country. When that contract was completed, I started teaching Visual Art at Port Moresby international High School.

In 1996 I returned to Adelaide, with my family. St Peter's College became my employer for the next 21 years as I taught Visual Art, Theory of Knowedge, and (on occasion) Religions Studies. 

Upon my retirement from teachng I joined Laneway Studios as a printmaker. My work involves relief printing and stone lithography. 

In the past 5 years I have been involved in group art exhbitions: 

SALA exibitions for staff at St Peter's College. 2022, 2023, 2024.

SALA Exhbition at Laneway Print Studios. 2024

Group Exhibition at Gallery 1855. 2021, 2022

My work hangs in private collections in Adelaide, and in Canada (Toronto, Calgary, Regina)

As well as an artist in the print studio, I am a guide, and front-of-house staffer, at the Art Gallery of South Australia.
