I have always been busy creating, drawing mostly when I was a teenager, decorating home wares, making mirrors.... and Art was always my favourite class at school. I started painting with acrylic paints on canvas about 8 years ago and have not looked back. I remember how much I loved painting and drawing when I was a child and I am now determined to make up for lost time. Happy, relaxed, frustrated, proud, elated and joyous are only a few adjectives I can use to describe how I feel when I paint. Passion for the environment and animal welfare is a recurring theme in my work. Land and Seascapes are my thing, I love animals and the natural Australian bush. The design and palette of each work emerges in real time, my paintings have a direction of their own. My art is a mixture of basic design and colour combinations and are a result from how I 'see' my environment. I can spend hours on a beach or a walking track and visually process many minute habitats, complete with colour and texture. Months, and sometimes years later, these casual and important observations emerge within a painting and I am left to decipher the place and the memory. This process excites and delights me every time. Receiving excellent guidance at different times from Gerda Roberts, Cheryl Petersen, Carol Foster and Margo Vigoritto, I am in the process of honing a style of my own and loving it I have travelled extensively over the years to Asia and Europe and spent some years living in the Middle East, these experiences have certainly influenced my style. â¨I am a prolific painter and have sold many works over the past 8 years to local and international buyers (U.S.A and Malaysia mainly). I have been very lucky to have recently secured an artist's residency (Mornington Peninsula Shire) at Police Point 2018. My art has been featured in TV commercials and Lifestyle TV shows this year.
