As a part time hobby painter I began by entering the Victor Harbor Rotary Art Exhibition for the first time in 1998 and entered each year enabling me to sell half of my entered works. My initial success was winning first and third prizes in a local Portrait Exhibition in 2015. I was able to begin painting full time in 2016, which proved to be a very successful year. Selling works in both the Victor Harbor Rotary and the Goolwa Rotary. Also acheiving my first exhibition in conjuction with photographic artist, Irene Polias. Selling 16 of my 28 works during 2016 SALA Festival. Also in 2016 in the local Portrait Exhibition I was awarded a 'Highly Commended Award' and the 'Peoples Choice Award' In October 2016 another opportunity arose to paint for a charity organisation 'The Soroptimist Club of Adelaide Inc' with all profits going to The Zahra Foundation Australia'. Selling all 6 works and also winning the 'Peoples Choice Award' In 2017 I continue to enjoy using oils in my Seacapes,Landscapes, Still Life and Portraiture both animals & people. |
