Artist Bio: Amanda Clark |
|
Amanda Clark Amanda lives in Melbourne, Australia, with her family, including two grown up daughters. Recently she has completed a series of portraits of celebrities using photographic reference sources. A series of works with Heath Ledger as the subject was produced soon after Heath's tragic death and she was inspired to paint Michael Jackson after his sudden demise. With a background and formal qualifications in science, Amanda, like her father, has recently given up her career in academia and the commercial sector to devote more time to studying art and producing art. Travel for work and pleasure has exposed her to wonderful sites all over the world and Amanda is beginning to broaden her repertoire to include landscapes, seascapes and cityscapes from many of the places she has seen in her travels. Amanda is primarily self-taught, though she has participated in a number of courses and workshops over the years. In 2010, Amanda enrolled in a Diploma of Fine Art at Latrobe College of Art and Design. This has provided her with new techniques and skills in painting, drawing, sculpture and installations and has also been a valuable source of inspiration to try new things, including street art. |
