I am an artist and art educator based in Tatura and Melbourne. I exhibit and sells my art in Victoria and online. My art inspiration is the interplay of water and light and the transience of colour in nature. I studied fine arts and visual arts in NSW Australia and England. Living in Italy and Scotland greatly influences my art, where I aim to capture the changing light in varying atmospheric landscapes. My current artworks include the Goulburn Riverina area, Bright, Italy, France and Norway. I spent April 2023 painting en plein air in Lago Di Como, Firenze and Costa Amalfitana and am constantly fascinated by the deep greens and blues of the Mediteranean and unique lighting of Italy. I have won best in show prizes for water colour and mixed media, in Victorian Art Exhibitions, for my technique of pouring paint in a more ‘printmaking’ style. I illustrated the children’s books 'Bill's Bush Adventures,' and explore collage, mixed media and art as therapy. I continuously experiment with art to capture those magic moments in nature. I worked at Shepparton Art Museum during the opening of the new gallery and introduced the VCE Art Show, encouraging students to explore their art making. I continue to teach art to senior students part time, allowing time to continue my own art practice. |
