I have no formal training other than Art at school until I was 16 and a couple of classes and workshops as an adult. I was born in Kenya East Africa in the 1960's and I beleive this is where my love for animals and birds stemmed from. Moving to Scotland in1971 did nothing to dampen (or chill) that love! After a lifestyle change that brought me to Australia in 2004 I began to take my ability at drwaing and painting a bit more seriously and I have since gone to a week long workshop in Cairns (Artscape) and also worked for a day with a Victorian Artist. Over the past couple of years I have exhibited my paintings in a small gallery in Queenscliff, which unfortunately is now closed, and entered into three exhibitions. The latest was with Wildlife Artist Society of Australasia, where one of my paintings (a Superb Fairy Wren on a twig) was highly comended. So far my commissions have included an Greater Indian Hornbill and a group of Zebra Finches. |
