Artist Bio: Ewa Urbanski |
|
My name is Ewa Urbanki. My painting adventure began in Poland, I’ve been painting and drawing since I was a child. My inspiration and first teacher was my mother, who showed me the world from another perspective, one that was, to me, more interesting, more enthralling and more colourful. The art of painting was for me a way to show nature and the realism in its detail, and I am detailed-orientated. I enjoy the time I spend on each art work and seeing it come to life. I take inspiration from nature and from the places I’ve visited or remembered. Sometimes I just let my imagination run free. I use various techniques in my work, including, watercolour, gouache and oil paints. My husband’s nickname for me is, Van Wife, as one of his favourite paintings of mine are sunflowers, which reminds him of the work created by the famous painter, Van Gogh. I sign my work under the mark, EW, which I’ve done since the beginning. EW stands for Ewa Wilczynska, which was my maiden name. Painting gives me a sense of piece, a mental break from the day-to-day and a lot of satisfaction. You really can get lost in this world, time simply ceases to exist. It is my hope that you will find enjoyment in my work and I expect some healthy criticism. Ewa |
