Artist Bio: Hannah Lewis |
|
Hannah has been painting, drawing and photographing since she was 17. In the last two decades, she has focused on linocut printmaking. Her work is in private collections throughout Australia. Hannah’s work as an artist and educator is inspired by her passion for Australian native plants and her love of the bush and natural environment. In the last 15 years Hannah has invested a large part of her creativity into her work in education. She has worked with hundreds of secondary school students, developing passion based, entrepreneurial learning and has collaborated with them to ‘change the landscape and mindset’ of their educational setting. Hannah’s motivation has been a fundamental belief in the power of art and nature to inspire, motivate, restore and heal. Hannah retired from education in 2018 to have the time to focus on her own art practice, and to develop her garden as a showcase for edible, native and indigenous plants. Hannah was to complete an Artist Residency at Police point in August / September 2020 but this was postponed due to lockdown.
