Hi. My name is Kristie Hoiles and I am a Melbourne based artist with a passion for painting, illustration, interiors, art and design.

With a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design, my experience led me to a wonderful career and fulfilling ten years at Channel 9, Melbourne as a graphic designer/illustrator. I then had an amazing three years living in sydney, with my dream job as a textile designer. Here, I was incredibly lucky to gain invaluable lessons and techniques on painting florals and patterns. This is where my love of flora and fauna blossomed and my excitement for flowers flourished. Their elegant and inherent beauty and fluid nature makes painting them a divine pleasure and evokes a feeling of joy and tranquility which I hope translates onto the canvas, with a contemporary twist. A strong sense of self and the beauty of life around me, underpins all of my work and with a beautiful sense of colour and imagery, I try to express a radiant glow throughout my paintings that bring light and happiness into everyone's world. I have recently cherished being home with my three precious children as they've grown, and with my third child in prep this year, I am excited to be able to have more time to follow my passion for painting and illustration.

I am inspired by the beauty of the every day, be it in my three children, a single rose, a magnolia's striking beauty as it blooms against winter branches. I hope people can interpret my art with their own visual and emotional response and start to look at the world from a different perspective. I hope to encourage you to stop, take a breathe and take in the delights of the simplest moments. If my paintings can bring these feelings of joy and harmony to someone else, then I am happy.
