For years I have been creating acrylic paintings and experimenting with various techniques. I am drawn to colourful images and the challenge of capturing a transient moment. When I am not creating art, I am reading about art or thinking about the next painting. My inspiration is mostly drawn from flowers, a long-held love from a gardening family. I also create abstract artworks with free-flowing acrylics, responding intuitively to parts by chance and developing other sections by choice. My works are vivid and colourful, their subject matter mostly flowers, birds and bold landscapes. I use some of my original artworks to create notecards and giclee prints. To paint and create has been a life long passion, including a design major as part of my degree. For over 10 years I have attended courses at BIA and other targeted workshops. I have had success in selling my work and hope the recipients receive some of the joy that I experience in making them. 2011 – 2023 Finalist Ekka Art Competition @ Royal Qld Show 2015 Finalist Morris Art Prize, Carrara Gold Coast 2018 Finalist Milburn Prize, Brisbane Institute of Art (BIA) 2018 Group Exhibition “Brushstrokes and Beyond” Percolator Gallery Paddington Brisbane 2019 Finalist Lethbridge 20000 2021 Finalist Lethbridge Landscape Prize 2021 Student Exhibition BIA 2021 First Prize Abstract Mt Gravatt Show 2022 Highly Commended Mt Gravatt Show 2023 Finalist “Petite Pieces” Aspire Gallery 2023 Finalist “Splash” Exhibition RQAS 2023 Finalist Ipswich Art Awards 2023 Solo Exhibition @ Chouquette Patisserie New Farm Brisbane 2023 Finalist 133rd Annual Member’s Exhibition RQAS 2023 First Prize Watercolour Redcliffe Show 2023 Finalist Materially Designed Exhibition RQAS 2023 Finalist Art of Imagination Exhibition RQAS 2024 Group Exhibition “Brushstrokes and Beyond” Carindale Library Mar-Apr 2024 Group Exhibition “The Arts Collective” Brisbane Exhibition, Petrie Tce Gallery 2024 Group Exhibition “The Arts Collective” Members’ Exhibition, Kaye West Studios 2024 Group Exhibition “The Arts Collective” Red Exhibition, Petrie Tce Gallery |
