Artist Bio: Monique Tankhounthavong

Monique, who also goes by the artist name Mobot, is a self-taught artist and illustrator from Sydney. While her media preference is pencil and ink, she also plays around with acrylics, charcoal and pastels. Her works range from spatial painted pieces to delicate, intricate drawings.

Her first exhibition was a painting installation at Gallery 5: Crown Lane in Wollongong, NSW in 2011 and she has since been included in a number of group shows in and around Sydney. This is her first time showing at the Linden Postcard Show and her second venture in to the Melbourne art scene.

Being an aspiring musician also, she tends to draw a lot of inspiration from music, as well as deeper subjects pertaining to emotions, human behaviour and womanhood. Many of her works are also named after the songs behind the inspiration.
