Artist Bio: Anna Farago |
Anna Farago is a Melbourne artist who incorporates her immediate environment and places she visits into her work. Anna explores craft techniques such as embroidery, quilting and patchwork in her work. These techniques also inform her paintings. Anna is currently Artist-In-Residence at Darebin Parklands in Alphington. In January 2016 she will have a solo exhibition ‘Stitching Place’ at the Residents Gallery, Montsalvat in Eltham. Anna is currently collaborating with community craft groups for ‘A Crafted History’ which will open at ArtSpace, Realm, Maroondah City Council in October 2015. Anna has had exhibitions at the Melbourne Fringe Festival. ‘Comfort Food’ in 2003, ‘OH 404’ 2004 and ‘Comfort Food Too’ in 2007. Anna has also collaborated on two installations for Northern Exposure: Art in Windows in High St, Northcote; with Penelope Aitken in 2013, and with a collective of women in 2011. |
