Jim studied lithography at SCU Lismore late last century. He paints in desultory bursts between building decks, driving a theodolite and stacking a dishwasher. Artistic influences include Max Ernst and the Surrealist movement in general as well as Georgio de Chirico's metaphysical paintings and a host of others: symbolism, pop art, petroglyphs, hieroglyphs etcetera.
