William R. Bullock Contact details: +61-414-444-344 William was born in Sydney, Australia in 1955. He has worked in professional studios and for many years was self-educated in the processes of photography. His contemporary still work, explored in the City Mosaics series, utilises modern editing technologies with several photographs taken over the last few years. The ideas for this process had been rattling around in his mind for quite some time and emanate from a dream he had where the world was super-pixellated, as if one were looking at a computer screen through a powerful magnifying glass. Focusing on major cities and landmarks, the images explore aspects of the separation, segmentation and fragmentation of modern life, including concepts of observation, documentation and surveillance as well as an unavoidable quotidian aspect. Numerous processes are involved in the creation of these images, including High Dynamic Range, filtering and manipulation of saturation and other image qualities. William also creates time-based works which create rich experiential altered states within audio-visual environments. A deep interest in hypnosis and trance states, which incorporates the processes of healing and stress management, is an underlying guide in this process. William recently completed a Bachelor of Visual Arts Honours degree (Photomedia) from Sydney College of the Arts.
