I am currently exhibiting at various Art Shows in 2019.
As a Melbourne born and raised exhibiting artist for over 20 years I have been developing my style by evolving my awareness, expanding my skills and intuition for painting. I want the viewer to see another dimension. I currently prefer the medium of acrylic and have a strong connection to the bold colours and textures offered by the Australian landscape. I love painting landscapes in particularly the Northern Territory, Kimberleys, Wilsons Promontory and Tasmania.
I am also fascinated with the cityscape of Melbourne resulting in the following series - Federation Square, Yarra Palms and City Skyline. I am inspired by the theme of incorporating the garden state emphasis into my interpretation of Melbourne and enjoy expanding and stylizing the foliage as calligraphy within the cityscapes.
A recent trip to Tasmania resulted in painting the diverse scenery at Cradle Mountain and the Bay of Fires. In between this I am still expanding my cityscape series of Melbourne as well as now capturing other cities in Australia including Sydney and Adelaide.
I am inspired and influenced by John Brack, Egon Schiele, Brett Whiteley, Anne Marie Graham and Del Kathryn Barton.
I have had 6 solo exhibitions at Volumes, a solo exhibition at Decoy and participated in numerous group exhibitions. My paintings have been sold to collectors in Australia, New Zealand and China. I have featured in the book publications 'Windows on Waverley' and 'Brushes with Life'.
Some of my recent art awards include the best landscape painting in show at the U3A Knox Art Show 2017 and the best painting to the value of $800 in The Bayside Art Show 2014.
