Larapuna Golden Tunapri

Description : The Bay of Fires (Larapuna) is a delicate ecosystem that I enjoyed visiting in 2015. The challenges of maintain a pristine environment and economic realities is a daily struggle of the community. The rocks and sea gave me an opportunity to reflect on the Gold that this place offers, we face global warming and seas of plastic and fail to care for our environment and could lose the aboriginal wisdom of living with the land. The bold history of this area relects the bold textures of the rocks and their natural abstraction. It's like the spirits of many ancient aboriginal people radiate from the rocks etched over time.

Not Currently for Sale Online

Currently exhibiting at various Art Show in 2019 and 2020.

As an Melbourne born and raised artist I have been developing my style by evolving my awareness, expanding my skills and intuition for painting over the last 20 years. I want the viewer to see another dimension.

I currently prefer the medium of acrylic and have a strong connection to the bold colours and textures offered by the Australian landscape. I love painting landscapes in particularly the Northern Territory, Kimberleys, Wilsons Promontory and Tasmania. I am also fascinated with cityscapes resulting in the following series - Federation Square, Yarra Palms and City Skylines.  While expanding my cityscape series of Melbourne I am now also capturing other cities in Australia including Sydney, Adelaide and Bendigo.

I enjoy exemplifying the gardens and the environment in my interpretations and expanding and stylizing the foliage as calligraphy within the cityscapes.

I am inspired and influenced by John Brack, Egon Schiele, Brett Whiteley, Anne Marie Graham and Del Kathryn Barton.

I have had 6 solo exhibitions at Volumes, a solo exhibition at both Decoy and Kinch Fine Food  and also participated in numerous group exhibitions and art shows. My paintings have been sold to collectors in Australia, New Zealand and China. I have featured in the book publications 'Windows on Waverley' and 'Brushes with Life'.

I participate in the art community and derive much inspiration from fellow artists.  The groups I belong to include the Glen Eira Artists Society, Hughesdale Art Group and the D.A.R.E Group.
